What a terrifically written story which we can all identify with, parts of anyway concerning our children’s time at school. Didn’t see the climax coming or should I say who was involved. Yet again I’ve flown through another of Moriarty’s books and loved it. I loved getting to know each of the characters as I laughed (out loud) and cried along with them. So many individual storylines, neatly wrapped up in a perfect parcel that brings together a diverse range of women in the most heartwarming and entertaining fashion.

Fantastic plot, beautifully written characters, and one of the most perfect denouements I have read for a long time. Could not put this down. Highly recommended for its insightful and clever prose, it's often tongue in cheek portrayal of the psychological complexities and motivations that drive us, and its touching take on some bigger and more painful issues such as domestic violence. Bravo!

This was a wonderful read. I admit that partway through reading I had become so absorbed in the characters that I wanted the book to finish right. It did, so then I went back to the enfolding storyline which was beautifully and unusually put together. Wonderful, believable modern day characters. Perfectly tongue in cheek humour and yet suspenseful. Characters that all teachers can recognise. Now I'm buying another book and looking forward to it.

Liane has a great way of making real life stories so easy to read. They suck you in because there are so many elements that you can relate to. I loved The Husbands Secret, Three Wishes and What Alice Forgot. Big Little Lies did not disappoint, and made for easy reading. The book, set in a fictional suburb of Point Pirrawee, follows three kindy families through the first year of school, leading up to a trivia night. You begin the book knowing someone dies at the trivia night and spend much if the book trying to figure out who, and why. There are so many possibilities, hinged primarily on the schools politics, but also intertwining personal relationships. Already I'm waiting for her next book. Thank Liane for writing stories that don't seem like fiction.

Highly recommended for its insightful and clever prose, it's often tongue in cheek portrayal of the psychological complexities and motivations that drive us, and its touching take on some bigger and more painful issues such as domestic violence. Bravo!

This was a wonderful read. I admit that partway through reading I had become so absorbed in the characters that I wanted the book to finish right. It did, so then I went back to the enfolding storyline which was beautifully and unusually put together. Wonderful, believable modern day characters. Perfectly tongue in cheek humour and yet suspenseful. Characters that all teachers can recognise. Now I'm buying another book and looking forward to it.

Liane has a great way of making real life stories so easy to read. They suck you in because there are so many elements that you can relate to. I loved The Husbands Secret, Three Wishes and What Alice Forgot. Big Little Lies did not disappoint, and made for easy reading. The book, set in a fictional suburb of Point Pirrawee, follows three kindy families through the first year of school, leading up to a trivia night. You begin the book knowing someone dies at the trivia night and spend much if the book trying to figure out who, and why. There are so many possibilities, hinged primarily on the schools politics, but also intertwining personal relationships. Already I'm waiting for her next book. Thank Liane for writing stories that don't seem like fiction.

Yet again I’ve flown through another of Moriarty’s books and loved it. I loved getting to know each of the characters as I laughed (out loud) and cried along with them. So many individual storylines, neatly wrapped up in a perfect parcel that brings together a diverse range of women in the most heartwarming and entertaining fashion.

Fantastic plot, beautifully written characters, and one of the most perfect denouements I have read for a long time. Could not put this down. Highly recommended for its insightful and clever prose, it's often tongue in cheek portrayal of the psychological complexities and motivations that drive us, and its touching take on some bigger and more painful issues such as domestic violence. Bravo!

Beautifully put together

This was a wonderful read. I admit that partway through reading I had become so absorbed in the characters that I wanted the book to finish right. It did, so then I went back to the enfolding storyline which was beautifully and unusually put together. Wonderful, believable modern day characters. Perfectly tongue in cheek humour and yet suspenseful. Characters that all teachers can recognise. Now I'm buying another book and looking forward to it.

Relatable

Liane has a great way of making real life stories so easy to read. They suck you in because there are so many elements that you can relate to. I loved The Husbands Secret, Three Wishes and What Alice Forgot. Big Little Lies did not disappoint, and made for easy reading. The book, set in a fictional suburb of Point Pirrawee, follows three kindy families through the first year of school, leading up to a trivia night. You begin the book knowing someone dies at the trivia night and spend much if the book trying to figure out who, and why. There are so many possibilities, hinged primarily on the schools politics, but also intertwining personal relationships. Already I'm waiting for her next book. Thank Liane for writing stories that don't seem like fiction.

What a terrifically written story which we can all identify with, parts of anyway concerning our children’s time at school. Didn’t see the climax coming or should I say who was involved. Yet again I’ve flown through another of Moriarty’s books and loved it. I loved getting to know each of the characters as I laughed (out loud) and cried along with them. So many individual storylines, neatly wrapped up in a perfect parcel that brings together a diverse range of women in the most heartwarming and entertaining fashion.

So glad I have discovered Liane Moriarty at long last. Love her characters, flawed as they are, and their relationships with each other. The book develops well and unlikely, but caring and sharing friendships develop. Thought the resolutions to problems were handled sympathetically and satisfactorily.

I read the book in under a week, you are so drawn to what's happening you can't get you're head out of it. To be honest I liked the book better than the TV Show but they were both amazing at the same time! Definitely worth reading!
